Job summary

Baptist Health in Paducah, KY is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to oversee daily patient flow and coordinate exam assignments, performing procedures with minimal supervision.

This role requires CNMT/ARRT(N), BLS, and MBIRT compliance; responsibilities include patient care, radiation safety, and collaboration with radiologists.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 40 hours, with call rotation among six technologists and rotating start times.

Qualifications

  • CNMT or ARRT(N) certification required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy requirements

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accurate records and documentation related to individual patient cases.
  • Obtains patient histories and coordinates communication with the radiologist and other members of the healthcare team as needed.
  • Provides patient immobilization as required and follows prescribed radiation safety standards.
  • Continuously monitors patients throughout examinations.
  • Assists the radiologist with examinations and invasive procedures as needed.
  • Effectively utilizes EPIC for documentation and patient care activities.
  • Assists in ensuring all completed studies are assigned to a radiologist by the end of the shift.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the department supervisor, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist oversees the daily flow of patients through the department and coordinates daily exam assignments. Performs nuclear medicine procedures at a technical level requiring minimal supervision of technical details. Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the application of prescribed ionizing radiation and other forms of energy. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as assigned.

Requirements
  • Technical diploma CNMT and/or ARRT(N)
  • BLS certification
