Job summary

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Wellstar provides safe, age-appropriate care by performing the full range of department exams according to procedures. He/she sets up equipment, positions patients, and ensures accurate, high-quality diagnostic studies with independent judgment.

Responsibilities include verifying orders, maintaining patient dignity, and following safety protocols. The role requires excellent communication and the ability to work calmly in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess excellent communication skills with physicians, patients, families, and staff.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure in a team environment.
• Demonstrates patient-centered care and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear medicine exams per department procedures.
• Verify orders and patient identity using procedures.
• Prepare equipment and position patient for imaging studies.
• Ensure safety, sterilization, and infection control during procedures.
• Complete studies in RIS and send to PACS; document accurately.
