Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides healthcare services using radionuclides to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Performs nuclear medicine procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by, and at the request of, a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor consistent with medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.

  • Administer prescribed, pharmaceutical-grade radioactive materials to patients.
  • Collect and document data from radiation emitted by human tissue using complex detection and analyzing equipment.
  • Perform quality control on all equipment and radioactive materials as required by policy and regulation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Manager.
What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate Degree.
  • Graduate from AMA-approved program for Radiologic Technology and/or Nuclear Medicine program or equivalent.
  • Preferred: One to two years of experience in an acute care setting as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:

  • Registry in Nuclear Medicine from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required within 90 days of hire.
  • State Registered Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical Board.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.

St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center is a 200+ bed acute-care facility located north of Austin, Texas. This comprehensive medical center features the only hybrid operating room in the county, a 24-hour emergency department with a Level II trauma center, and leading-edge cardiac care through the Heart Hospital of Austin at St. David’s Round Rock. Patients may also receive care related to rehabilitation services, women’s services, cancer care, neurology, joint replacement, and orthotics, and more when visiting this facility.
