Job Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist uses radionuclides to aid in diagnosis or treatment, demonstrating knowledge of human anatomy, patient care, radiation safety, and specialized techniques, following ARRT and CNMT standards.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Nuclear Medicine exams per protocols.
  • Administer prescribed radioactive materials per regulations.
  • Follow safety measures for radioactive materials.
  • Explain procedures to patients.
  • Operate equipment such as Spect Cameras and PACS proficiently.
  • Ensure physician supervision for procedures requiring medication administration.
  • Maintain department functions, including QC checks and documentation.
  • Conduct surveys and document findings of work areas and waste storage.
  • Adhere to safety, infection control, and radiation guidelines.
  • Work with Radiation Safety Officer to meet regulatory standards.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or equivalent.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • Licensed or certified by Texas Department of State Health Services and recognized certifying bodies (CNMT or ARRT).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
