Reporting to the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for performing a full range of in vivo and in vitro Nuclear Medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and related chemicals. This role includes providing quality patient care, ensuring timely throughput of patients, and performing their exams. The technologist operates and performs quality control on stationary and portable scintillation equipment, including gamma cameras, Geiger-Mueller counters, well counters, dose calibration devices, and ancillary equipment. They perform PET, Nuc Med, and CT diagnostic studies on PET/CT scanners, including injection of CT Contrast Media, image acquisition, and reformatting. The incumbent also performs scans and procedures to support scanner qualification for research trials and creates/programs study-specific protocols under supervision.
