Job description

Job Opportunity: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

My client, a small healthcare facility located on the beautiful Olympic Peninsula of Washington State, is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join their team. The hospital is situated approximately an hour west of Olympia, near the Pacific Ocean, offering a scenic environment with access to numerous recreational and cultural activities. The area features a moderate marine climate with dry, warm summers and mild winters, making it an ideal location for rural living while being within a short drive to Olympia, Seattle, or Portland.

Compensation: They are offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus!

Responsibilities
  • Perform general nuclear medicine and nuclear cardiology imaging.
  • Collect key information from patients, families, providers, and nurses to assist in proper diagnosis.
  • Educate patients, families, and providers about procedures, including informed consent and pre- and post-procedure instructions.
  • Ensure proper exam and medication administration, consulting providers as needed.
  • Order, prepare, and administer radiopharmaceuticals and brachytherapy doses.
  • Perform cardiovascular stress testing under supervision.
  • Adhere to Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) guidelines.
  • Maintain inventory levels, perform equipment inspections, and quality control.
  • Assist providers during therapeutic and invasive procedures.
  • Assess patient needs and prioritize care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Follow ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) guidelines.
  • Participate in call rotation as needed.
Qualifications

The candidate must be currently registered or eligible for registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), and hold the appropriate state license for Nuclear Medicine.

Additional Benefits

Salary ranges from $38.12 to $61.30/hr based on union contract.
