Job Summary and Qualifications

The Nuclear Med (NM) Tech performs general nuclear medicine and PET CT exams, ensuring high-quality care and customer service. The NM tech also handles, calibrates, logs, administers, and monitors radioactive isotopes following safety policies.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing nuclear medicine exams following protocols efficiently.

• Handling radioactive isotopes responsibly.

• Providing radiation safety support during incidents or spills.

• Maintaining accurate reports and records.

• Recording patients' medical information.

• Coordinating patient flow and ensuring all exams are completed.

• Explaining procedures and answering patient questions.

• Communicating professionally with staff, physicians, patients, and families.

• Maintaining required licenses and certifications.

• Adhering to ICARE values.

• Preparing patients and assisting with examinations or treatments.

• Providing discharge instructions and education.

• Demonstrating technical skills and knowledge of radioactive materials.

• Understanding human development and patient care across ages.

• Properly handling and disposing of radioactive waste according to regulations.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.

• Current registry with CNMT or ARRT (N).
