Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic imaging, prepare radiopharmaceuticals, and collaborate with physicians to provide images for interpretation. The candidate should have AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine Technology training, at least two years of experience, and possible CNMT

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or meets state licensing standards.
• Minimum two years of Nuclear Medicine experience.
• CNMT certification (preferred).
• One–two years supervisory or team lead experience.
• CPR certification and current health certificate as required.
• Meets all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients.
• Perform imaging studies using high-level equipment and record images.
• Collaborate with physicians to provide images for interpretation.
• Assist in therapeutic radiation doses under physician instruction.
• Maintain safety and compliance with radioactive materials handling.

Job description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs tests for patient diagnosis, progress or deterioration and medical research. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and gives radiopharmaceuticals to patients when indicated and uses high-level imaging equipment to record images of the radioactive material in the patient’s body. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist works in collaboration with physicians to provide the images for interpretation to study and diagnose a medical condition. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist gives doses of radiation to patients internally to treat various medical conditions when prescribed by a physician. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist participates in a variety of technical tasks, tests and determinations involving the utilization of radioactive materials and measurement instrumentation.

• Level I & II
• Graduate of an AMA approved Nuclear Medicine Technology training program and/or meets all state required educational & licensing/certification standards
• ? Possesses at least two years of experience in the Nuclear Medicine field
• ? May hold specialized certifications (like CNMT from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board), manages complex scans independently, and may oversee or guide Level 1 technologists.
• ? One –two years prior supervisory or Team Lead experience
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
