Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic tests, prepare radiopharmaceuticals, and capture high-quality images using advanced imaging equipment. You will collaborate with physicians to ensure accurate interpretation and may supervise Level 1 technologists, leveraging CNMT certification where applicable.

The role supports travel assignments in various healthcare facilities across California, requiring compliance with professional standards and CPR

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Nuclear Medicine Technology training program and/or meets all state required educational & licensing/certification standards.
• Possesses CNMT certification (optional) and may supervise Level 1 technologists.
• Two years of experience in Nuclear Medicine preferred.
• Undergo current CPR certification and health screening as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests for diagnosis, progress or deterioration and research.
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals when indicated.
• Operate high-level imaging equipment to record images of radioactive materials.
• Collaborate with physicians to provide images for interpretation.
• Administer radiation doses when prescribed by a physician.
• Assist with handling of radioactive materials and instrumentation.

Job description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs tests for patient diagnosis, progress or deterioration and medical research. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist prepares and gives radiopharmaceuticals to patients when indicated and uses high-level imaging equipment to record images of the radioactive material in the patient’s body. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist works in collaboration with physicians to provide the images for interpretation to study and diagnose a medical condition. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist gives doses of radiation to patients internally to treat various medical conditions when prescribed by a physician. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist participates in a variety of technical tasks, tests and determinations involving the utilization of radioactive materials and measurement instrumentation.

• Level I & II
• Graduate of an AMA approved Nuclear Medicine Technology training program and/or meets all state required educational & licensing/certification standards
• ? Possesses at least two years of experience in the Nuclear Medicine field
• ? May hold specialized certifications (like CNMT from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board), manages complex scans independently, and may oversee or guide Level 1 technologists.
• ? One –two years prior supervisory or Team Lead experience
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
• Current CPR if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
