Qualifications

Job Summary

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. This role involves working in the Nuclear Medicine departments in Augusta and Waterville, as well as the PET department at the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care. The team emphasizes collaboration, teamwork, and patient safety.

Job Description

• Review patient history and physician orders.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams.
• Order, prepare, administer, store, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals or medications per protocols.
• Monitor patient condition continuously and report changes.
• Prepare equipment and supplies; select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report or resolve as necessary.
• Position patient and perform imaging procedures.
• Analyze results and identify issues with image quality.
• Take appropriate actions to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning and repeating procedures.
• Enter, transmit, and report scan results.

Qualifications

• Current State of Maine License for Radiological Technology/Nuclear Medicine.
• Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the NMTCB or ARRT.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Healthcare provider designation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Scheduled weekly hours: 32.
• Scheduled work shift: Day.
