Pride Health is seeking a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Houston, TX.
Job Summary
In this role, you will perform a variety of routine and specialized nuclear radiology procedures under the direction of licensed independent practitioners, ensuring accurate diagnostic imaging and excellent patient care. You will serve as a liaison between patients, radiologists, and support staff while maintaining strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnostic Procedures:
- Perform routine and specialized nuclear radiology procedures (including contrast agent administration) following established protocols.
- Independently scan patients using established protocols to obtain high-quality images.
- Patient Care:
- Confirm patient using approved identifiers.
- Demonstrate -appropriate care, ensuring patient comfort, privacy, and safety during procedures.
- Verify patient’s and informed consent statuses.
- Quality Control & Equipment Handling:
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot nuclear radiology equipment (including automated processors, digitizing film equipment, R.I.S., and PACS).
- Perform routine quality control checks and ensure compliance with state, federal, and organizational safety regulations (e.g., MQSA, ACR).
- Data & Documentation:
- Accurately document patient information, test results, and procedure details.
- Manage digital records in PACS and other systems.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between patients, radiologists, and technical staff.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely and accurate testing.
- Additional Duties:
- Assist in technical and training of cross-trained Radiologic Technologists.
- Adapt procedures as needed based on patient condition and technical requirements.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
- Required:
- Technical Diploma from a formal diagnostic Radiology program.
- Certification in Nuclear Medicine:
- CMRT (Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist - Nuclear Medicine) via the Texas Medical Board and/or
- CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medical Technologist) by NMTCB, OR
- N-ARRT (ARRT Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine)
- Must have a solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
Experience & Skills:
- Overall knowledge of general nuclear medicine procedures is required.
- Proficient in operating and troubleshooting nuclear radiology equipment.
- Strong technical, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Must honor confidentiality and demonstrate a commitment to radiation safety.
- Bilingual skills are a plus ().
Additional Information:
- Location: Houston, TX 77030
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM/ 40 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Pay Rate: $64 - $70/hour
