Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Ballantyne Medical Center to join its acute care team. This part-time role (24 hrs/wk) includes rotating shifts and requires ARRT/NMTCB certification and state licensure, with at least one year of nuclear medicine experience preferred.

You will work with advanced imaging technology and collaborate with a supportive clinical team, ensuring high quality patient care and safety.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required or related ARRT/NMTCB recognition preferred.
  • Minimum one year experience in nuclear medicine preferred.
  • Certified and registered in Nuclear Medicine by ARRT or NMTCB – RT(N) or CNMT, required; state license required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate nuclear medicine equipment and assist physicians to obtain diagnostic scans.
  • Prepare patients and perform procedures as directed.

What You'll Do

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist I assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and / or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the nuclear medicine equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans.


What We're Looking For

  • Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved or NMTCB-recognized Nuclear Medicine Program, required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in nuclear medicine, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Certified and registered in Nuclear Medicine by ARRT or NMTCB – RT(N) or CNMT, required.
    • Refer to the Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096 for life support training requirement, required.
    • Applicable state license, required.
  • Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing; good communication skills; capable of functioning alone in diagnostic rooms; working knowledge of various types of nuclear medicine equipment, able to adapt to new and various situations and procedures according to age of patient served; has ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his / her age-specific needs.
