Job summary

FirstHealth of the Carolinas in Troy is seeking a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our new Nuclear Medicine department. This Full-Time, Day Shift role offers a dynamic work environment with no weekends, nights, or holidays.

The ideal candidate will have graduated from an accredited school of Radiology and hold Nuclear Medicine registration. Responsibilities include preparing facilities, administering radiopharmaceuticals, and monitoring quality control activities.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiology with additional training in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine registration through NMTCB or ARRT.
  • Strong commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare facilities and calibrate equipment as required by the institution.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals and start patient IVs.
  • Monitor quality control activities under the NRC guidelines.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join the new Nuclear Medicine department at Montgomery Memorial Hospital in Troy. This Full‑Time, Day Shift role offers a dynamic work environment with no weekends, nights, or holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare facilities in accordance with procedural requirements and calibrate equipment as required by the institution.
  • Calculate, measure, and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used, and disposed of, using a computer and following physician’s prescription.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals orally, by injection, or inhalation.
  • Start patient IVs, explain imaging procedures to patients, answer questions, and ensure their comfort while positioning them for scanning.
  • Accomplish computer processing and imaging enhancement; provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Monitor the department’s daily, monthly, and quarterly quality control activities under the guidelines of the NRC.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, maintaining strong customer service, communication, and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited school of Radiology with additional training in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Certification: Nuclear Medicine registration through NMTCB or ARRT.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced training in NM studies such as Nuclear Stress Test, Bone Scans, HIDA Scans, Lung Scans, Thyroid Scans, Liver Scans, and Brain Scans.
  • Experience with GE, Siemens, Hitachi, and Philips magnets is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to educate and motivate patients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
