Job summary

FirstHealth of the Carolinas is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join the new Nuclear Medicine department at the Richmond campus. This Full Time, Day Shift role includes no weekends, nights or holidays.

You will enhance clinical skills across diverse NM studies, working with a varied patient population and a supportive management team. EPIC EMR is used for documentation and data sharing.

Qualifications

  • Must be registered in Nuclear Medicine through NMTCB or ARRT.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
  • Experience with NM studies and imaging procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform NM studies including Nuclear Stress Test, Bone, HIDA, Lung, Thyroid, Liver and Brain scans.
  • Prepare facilities, calibrate equipment per procedural requirements.
  • Calculate, measure and record radiation dosage using physician prescriptions.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals orally, by injection or inhalation.
  • Start patient IVs and explain procedures to ensure comfort.
  • Process images and enhance quality using imaging software.
  • Provide images and data to physicians for interpretation.
  • Monitor QC daily, monthly, and quarterly per NRC guidelines.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and teamwork.
  • Operate within EPIC EMR system and collaborate with staff.

Nuclear Medicine Technologist

We are looking for a dynamic Nuclear Medicine Tech to join our new Nuclear Medicine department at FirstHealth of the Carolinas- Richmond campus. This Full Time, Day Shift position. NO WEEKENDS, NIGHTS or HOLIDAYS.

If you are eager to enhance your clinical skills with a variety of Nuclear Medicine studies and work with a varied patient population, this may be the position for you.

Responsibilities
  • Has training in NM studies such as Nuclear Stress Test, Bone Scans, HIDA Scans, Lung scans, Thyroid Scans, Liver Scans, and Brain Scans
  • Prepares facilities in accordance with procedural requirements; calibrates equipment as required by the institution.
  • Calculate, measure and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used and disposed, using computer and following physician’s prescription.
  • Preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals orally or by injection or inhalation.
  • Starts patient IV's.
  • Explaining the imaging procedure to patients, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort while placing them in the appropriate position for scanning.
  • Accomplish computer processing and imaging enhancement.
  • Provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Monitoring the departments daily, monthly, and quarterly QC under the guidelines of the NRC.
