Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of formal training in an approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• Maintains current license to practice in the State of Rhode Island.
• Must hold current Nuclear Medicine ARRT or CNMT certification.
• Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, visitors and staff.
• Knowledge to operate nuclear medicine equipment and to calculate/prepare radiopharmaceuticals.
• Care for patients across the life span with sensitivity to cultural diversity.
• Attention to meticulous record-keeping in nuclear medicine.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and performs patient studies and analyses per department manual.
• Operates IS software (MAK, Syngo, PACS, Lifelinks) as required.
• Operates gamma cameras, dose calibrator, well counter, CSR, RIS, workstations and related equipment.
• Processes and verifies images in PACS for radiologist review.
• Accurately bills and codes patient charges for supplies.
• Performs daily QA on imaging and monitoring instruments.
• Maintains radiation safety practices and proper disposal of radioactive materials.
• Transports patients as needed and assists with training of new staff.
