Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services to nearly 60 percent of the residents in Montgomery, Autauga and Elmore counties.

Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Team Lead will supervise a variety of technical procedures within Nuclear Medicine Imaging, applying low doses of radiation for the detection and treatment of pathology. The Team Lead will oversee Nuclear Medicine Technologists within the Radiology Services department and may assume additional duties within the scope of the role.

Education / Experience

High School diploma or equivalent required. Graduates of a School of Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology required. Minimum 2 years technical experience in Nuclear Medicine.

License / Certification

Current ARRT or CNMT Nuclear Medicine registry required. BLS required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Reasoning ability and good independent judgment.
  • Capability to work within rigid time constraints.
  • Continuous awareness of patient conditions at all times.
Work Conditions / Physical Requirements
  • Walking 33 % of the time; sitting 33 % of the time; standing 33 % of the workday.
  • Assist and maneuver patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds.
  • Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Frequent reaching, use of hands, and repetitive action.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
  • Requirement for clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
  • Continuous visual acuity at close and distant ranges.
  • Indoor environment—protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes; minimal noise levels.
  • Handling of radioactive materials with appropriate protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Use of personal protective equipment for biohazard and chemical exposure.
  • Occasional exposure to electrical shock, infectious disease, and hazardous chemicals.
