Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine seeks a TH Medical Radiographer III in Radiology/Nuclear Medicine to deliver diagnostic imaging, support patient care, and supervise procedures as needed.

The role requires NYS licensure in Nuclear Medicine Radiology, a School of Nuclear Medicine Technology credential, and BLS certification. It includes day shifts (12 PM–8 PM) with on-call duties and opportunities to teach radiology students and staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• Licensed by the NYS DOH in Nuclear Medicine Radiology Technology.
• BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Produces diagnostic exams, positions and transfers patients and selects proper technical factors.
• Provides protection in accordance with safety standards and assists physicians.
• May act as supervisor in absence of the supervisor or senior technologist.
• Assists in first aid, maintains sterile techniques and prevents cross-contamination.
• Conducts quality control tests and participates in required research.
• Teaches radiology students or hospital personnel and demonstrates equipment operation.
• Ensures adherence to department teaching objectives.
