Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to operate PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine equipment and perform diagnostic scans with precision and safety. You will prepare patients, set up exams, monitor procedures, and document results for radiologist interpretation.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s Degree in Diagnostic Imaging, CNMT/ARRT-N certification within 180 days, a state radiologic license, and BLS certification within 90 days; 1–2 years of NM tech

Qualifications

• Associates degree in diagnostic imaging required.
• CNMT/ARRT-N Certification required within 180 days.
• State Radiologic Technologist Nuclear Medicine license required.
• BLS Certification required within 90 days.
• 1–2 years NM tech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate PET/CT and Nuclear Medicine equipment to obtain diagnostic scans.
• Scan patients with correct technical factors and explain procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures including transport and positioning.
• Record images for radiologist interpretation and maintain records.
• Maintain documentation regarding radioactive materials.

Job Description Summary

• Responsible for providing quality patient care while producing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures safely while operating Nuclear Medicine and CT equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans.
• Does this position require Patient Care? Yes
• Essential Functions:
• Scan patients properly, using correct selection of technical factors, fully understanding the physics of nuclear medicine in order to operate the equipment at its most optimal settings for quality procedures.
• Prepares patients for procedures which may include transporting, transferring, immobilizing, and position patients.
• Explains procedures to patients taking into consideration physical and emotional needs.
• Records images as directed for radiologist interpretation.
• Maintains pertinent records.
• Maintain required documentation regarding radioactive materials, both upon receipt and prior to administration.

Qualifications

Performs Exams in both PET/CT and Nuclear Cardiology Departments

Education

Associate's Degree Diagnostic Imaging required

Licenses and Credentials

• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist [CNMT/ARRT-N Certification] - required within 180 days
• Radiologic Technologist Nuclear Medicine - State License - required
• Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - required within 90 days

Experience

Nuclear Medicine Tech experience with multiple patient populations 1-2 years preferred
