Job summary

Cape Cod Imaging Services, LLC is seeking a per diem Nuclear Medicine Technologist to cover Sunday shifts at Baystate Health, with hours 7am–5:30pm and 10:30am–7:30pm. Candidate must be ARRT/NMTCB registered, CPR certified, hold an active state license, and have at least one year of nuclear medicine experience.

Ability to start IVs and assist patients is required. The role involves operating PET equipment, performing hot lab duties, ensuring patient safety and comfort, documenting exams, and

Qualifications

• Must possess a state license for the state(s) in which employed.
• Must be CPR certified.
• Must be registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB.
• Minimum of one year of nuclear medicine experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in starting IVs.
• Able to sit and use a computer for extended periods.
• Able to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
• Able to push, pull, and lift at least 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes.
• Perform all hot lab responsibilities.
• Ensure patient is cleared of contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient’s exam.
• Record patient data to the Tech Data Entry program.
• Provide and issue films when appropriate.
• Forward PET related data to Radiologist upon completion of exam.
• Refilm cases as time allows
• Assist clerical staff as circumstances arise.
• Clean and re-supply equipment and rooms as needed.

• Follow all Shields Health Care Group policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety at all times.
• Follow rules and regulations established by the NRC, state regulatory agencies, and JCAHO.
• Inform the patient of all aspects of their exam to their level of understanding.
• Operate PET equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products.
• Performs all hot lab responsibilities.
• Ensure patient is cleared of all contraindications and hazards.
• Accurately position the patient and ensure their comfort.
• Maintain visual and verbal contact with the patient during the exam.
• Complete all forms pertaining to patient's exam.
• Record patient data to Tech Data Entry program.

Additional Job Description

Pay range for this position is $32 - $60/hr + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
