Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company in Chattanooga, TN, seeks a Mechanical Engineer I to join the New Components & BWR Engineering team. The role offers a hybrid work schedule and opportunities to work on large component design, analysis and fabrication for nuclear systems.

You will report to the Manager for New Components & BWR Engineering and interact with customers and technical leads to ensure timely delivery and compliance with safety and design standards.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Nuclear Engineering (or equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for large component design, analysis and fabrication, focusing on replacement steam generators, AP1000 primary components, and BWR engineering.
• Perform analytical calculations (structural, dynamic, thermal-hydraulic) and develop documentation for these calculations and analyses.
• Develop design documentation for safety and non-safety hardware, including drawings, specifications and qualification reports.
• Coordinate activities with technical leads, project managers and customers.
• Occasionally travel to customer and vendor sites to provide on-site support and issue resolution.

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or recognized equivalent
