Job summary

Westinghouse Electric seeks a Senior Mechanical Components Design and Analysis Engineer to provide daily technical support for component engineering and lead design and analysis of major components for the nuclear fleet. Hybrid work from Madison, PA is available.

The role involves coordinating repairs, performing FEAs, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, with opportunities to identify new technical solutions and business opportunities.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of engineering experience.
• Proficient in ANSYS software.
• Working knowledge of ASME codes.
• Experience with scope, schedule and budget development.
• Teamwork with leadership and collaboration.
• Familiarity with Inventor or SolidWorks CAD.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate installation, fabrication, testing and qualification of repairs or replacements.
• Assess and qualify pressure boundary components and internals.
• Develop solutions for complex problems and outage issues.
• Perform engineering calculations and Finite Element Analyses (ANSYS or similar).
• Meet project commitments, schedules and budgets; ensure safety/regulatory compliance.
• Address customer and regulatory requirements and concerns.
• Provide technical scope and cost estimates; identify new opportunities.
• Prepare technical reports and present information to internal groups, customers, and regulators.
• Support inspections and maintenance at headquarters or customer sites during outages.
