Westinghouse Electric Company in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 1 to join the New Components & BWR Engineering team. You will provide technical support for large component design, analysis, and fabrication, including replacement steam generators and AP1000 primary components, with hybrid work.

The position reports to the Manager for New Components & BWR Engineering and involves on-site and occasional travel to customer and vendor sites.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or recognized equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for large component design, analysis, and fabrication; focus on replacement steam generators, AP1000 primary components, and BWR engineering.
• Perform analytical calculations (structural, dynamic and thermal hydraulic) and evaluations using engineering tools; develop documentation.
• Develop design documentation for safety and non-safety related hardware; include manufacturing drawings and specifications.
• Work with technical leads, project managers, and customers to coordinate activities within the scope.
• Occasionally travel to customer and manufacturing vendor sites to provide on-site support and deliver presentations.
