Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 1 to support the New Components & BWR Engineering team in Chattanooga, TN. The position offers a hybrid schedule and reports to the Manager for New Components & BWR Engineering.

Responsibilities include design analysis, documentation, and coordination with project teams, with occasional travel to customer sites and vendors. The role requires a BS in mechanical/aerospace/nuclear engineering and offers a base salary range dependent on

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Nuclear Engineering required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for large component design, analysis, and fabrication; focus on replacement steam generators, AP1000 primary components, and BWR engineering.
• Perform analytical calculations (structural, dynamic and thermal hydraulic) and evaluations using engineering tools; develop documentation for these calculations and analyses.
• Develop design documentation for safety and non-safety hardware, including manufacturing drawings, specifications, and qualification reports.
• Collaborate with technical leads, project managers, and customers to coordinate activities within the work scope.
• Occasionally travel to customer and vendor sites to provide on-site support, deliver presentations, and aid in issue resolution.
