Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering seeks an Applied Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Design Engineer to support a novel advanced reactor design project. You will work on mechanical problems involving heat, gas, fluids, and solids to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient reactor systems.

The role covers design, documentation, and compliance with ASME B31 and related standards. The position operates on a remote six-month contract, 40 hours per week, Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in mechanical system design per ASME B31 and related codes.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams on reactor design.
• Experience applying systems engineering approaches to design requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with scientists and engineers on novel reactor design.
• Perform mechanical system design, evaluation, and project execution.
• Document designs and ensure conformance with codes and standards.
• Develop and maintain design requirements and configuration management.
• Coordinate testing, fabrication, and installation activities as needed.
• Support reactor operations and experimentation while ensuring safety baselines.
