Job summary

X Energy, LLC seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to the in-core shielding elements for the Reactor Vessel Internals (RVI) of its advanced high-temperature gas-cooled reactor. You will drive concept development through detailed design, analysis, and manufacturing support while ensuring nuclear safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience with hand calculations and design analysis.
• Familiarity with CAD/PLM tools and nuclear design standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical concepts and SSC designs for nuclear products with safety emphasis.
• Coordinate requirements and interfaces with stakeholders and engineers.
• Plan and perform analyses to verify technical specifications.
• Create CAD models and document design basis and calculations.
• Develop V&V plans and support qualification of tools.
