Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Nuclear Design Group. You will work on power plant modifications and design initiatives, including cooling water systems, pumps, motors, piping, and heat exchangers.

You will prepare drawings and analyses, adhere to standards, travel to site locations, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions for government and DOE projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with design of mechanical systems.
• Experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects.
• Excellent writing, presenting and communication skills.
• Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Due to Federal Contract Requirements, US Citizenship is required.
• Approximate travel of 10% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality engineering documents: drawings, calculations, analyses.
• Adhere to standards aligning with client and regulatory requirements.
• Stay current with industry codes and nuclear design techniques.
• Produce deliverables meeting QA standards and project scope.
• Build lasting client relationships through clear communication.
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure integrated designs.
• Travel to plant sites for on-site walkdowns and evaluation.
