Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Nuclear Design Group in Charlotte, NC. You will work on a range of power plant modifications and design initiatives, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and traveling to plant sites as needed.

The role emphasizes delivering precise engineering drawings, analyses, and reports while adhering to strict industry standards. Strong writing and communication skills, along with a background in mechanical engineering and nuclear/DOE

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Minimum 3 years of experience designing mechanical systems.
Experience with power generation, nuclear power, or DOE projects preferred.
Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.
Ability to be an individual contributor and work well in teams.
Proficiency with Word and Excel.
U.S. Citizenship required due to Federal contracts.
Approximately 10% travel.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality engineering documents: drawings, sketches, calculations, analyses meeting codes and standards.
Adhere to standards: align with client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements; follow procedures.
Stay ahead of the curve: keep up with industry codes, safety culture, nuclear design techniques.
Commit to excellence: ensure deliverables meet QA standards and client expectations.
Build lasting client relationships through clear communication and reliable engineering solutions.
Collaborate across disciplines to ensure integrated, comprehensive designs.
Be hands-on in the field: travel to plant sites, perform on-site Walkdowns and assessments.
