Job summary

ENERCON Services, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Nuclear Design Group in Charlotte, NC. You will support power-generation projects, designing cooling water systems, pumps, piping, and heat exchangers, and you may travel to plant sites as needed.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, and is eligible to work in the U.S. with strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with design of mechanical systems.
• Experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects.
• Good writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Due to Federal Contract Requirements, US Citizenship is required.
• Approximate travel of 10% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality engineering documents: drawings, sketches, calculations, and analyses meeting codes and client needs.
• Adhere to standards: develop documents aligned with client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements.
• Stay ahead of the curve: keep knowledge current with industry codes, safety culture principles, and advanced design techniques for the nuclear sector.
• Commit to excellence: produce deliverables that meet QA standards and project scope.
• Build lasting client relationships: communicate clearly and deliver exceptional engineering solutions.
• Collaborate across disciplines: work with other teams to ensure designs are integrated.
• Be hands-on in the field: travel to plant sites for on-site walkdowns and evaluations.
