Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Nuclear Design Group in a full-time capacity. The role involves designing mechanical systems for power generation projects and leading multidisciplinary effort while traveling to plant sites for on-site assessments.

The ideal candidate has a mechanical engineering degree, 3+ years of design experience, and strong communication skills. U.S. citizenship is required for federal contract compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with design of mechanical systems.
• Experience in power generation, nuclear power or government (DOE) projects directly or with an engineering/design consulting firm.
• Good writing, presentation and communication skills.
• Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• US Citizenship is required due to Federal Contract Requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality engineering documents: accurate drawings, sketches, calculations, and analyses aligned with codes and client needs.
• Adhere to standards: align documents with client, ENERCON, and regulatory requirements.
• Stay current with industry codes, standards, safety culture, and advanced design techniques for the nuclear sector.
• Produce deliverables that meet QA standards and exceed client expectations.
• Build lasting client relationships through clear communication and professional interactions.
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure integrated designs.
• Be hands-on in the field: travel to plant sites for on-site assessments.
