Job summary

General Matter is seeking an entry-to-mid level Laboratory Technician to support the Chemistry team in a regulated uranium enrichment environment. You will perform sample prep, QA testing, equipment maintenance, and documentation to support R&D efforts and product certification.

The role requires precise execution of SOPs, adherence to GLP, and the ability to obtain necessary security clearance for nuclear materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs precisely.
  • Demonstrated laboratory skills through coursework, research, internships, or co-ops.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare samples and reagents for analytical testing and quality control analysis.
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment and instrumentation to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Perform routine laboratory testing and measurements in support of R&D and product QA activities.
  • Document experimental procedures, observations, and results in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Maintain laboratory inventory, including chemicals, supplies, and consumables.
  • Follow strict safety, security, and compliance protocols for handling nuclear materials and working in a regulated environment.
  • Support laboratory organization, cleanliness, and adherence to good laboratory practices (GLP).
  • Collaborate with chemists, scientists, and operations staff to meet testing and production schedules.
  • Assist with method validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
