Job summary

General Matter, Inc. in the Los Angeles area is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the Chemistry team as we scale uranium enrichment research and development.

You will prepare samples, maintain equipment, and ensure quality control in a highly regulated environment. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, are detail-oriented, capable of following SOPs, and prepared to obtain required security clearance; prior experience in analytical labs is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs precisely.
• Demonstrated laboratory skills through coursework, research, internships, or co-ops.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance for nuclear materials.
• Willingness to work in a highly regulated, safety-conscious laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples and reagents for analytical testing and quality control analysis.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment and instrumentation to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Perform routine laboratory testing and measurements in support of R&D and product QA activities.
• Document experimental procedures, observations, and results in compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
• Maintain laboratory inventory, including chemicals, supplies, and consumables.
• Follow strict safety, security, and compliance protocols for handling nuclear materials and working in a regulated environment.
• Support laboratory organization, cleanliness, and adherence to GLP.
• Collaborate with chemists, scientists, and operations staff to meet testing and production schedules.
• Assist with method validation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
