Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory seeks an Lifting and Handling Electrical Engineer to maintain and improve heavy electrical equipment used in the nuclear refueling mission. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure reliability, safety, and compliance with codes during design changes, maintenance planning and field walkdowns.

Ideal candidates hold a related technical degree at any level (Bachelors/Masters/Doctorate) with 4+ years of experience; or a Master with 2+ years, or Doctorate, or

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in a related technical field with minimum years of experience as specified.
  • Familiarity with NEC or equivalent electrical codes and standards.
  • Experience with PLCs, motor controls and industrial control systems for heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Support design changes and maintenance planning for lifting and handling equipment.
  • Conduct field walkdowns and issue resolution to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, structural, operations and maintenance personnel to meet codes and standards.
