Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory seeks an Intermediate Electrical Engineer in Bettis Construction Department to support facility projects ranging from renovations to new construction of offices, labs, and test facilities. You will contribute to design development, field engineering, and technical problem solving across electrical infrastructure projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's with 2+ years or a Master's with 1 year (or current Intermediate Reactor Training Engineer/Refueling Engineer).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related technical field with 2+ years of experience; or Master's with 1 year; or currently an Intermediate Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
  • Experience with electrical infrastructure design development, field engineering, and problem solving across electrical projects.
  • Familiarity with building power distribution, lighting, grounding, communications, and fire alarm systems; NEC knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing project requirements and review design packages from subcontracted firms.
  • Investigate and assess existing electrical systems and integration points for new infrastructure.
  • Support preparation and review of engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications.
  • Conduct field walkdowns and assist with construction oversight to ensure codes and project standards are met.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design and construction issues.
  • Promote safe electrical work practices and adherence to regulatory requirements.
