Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) is seeking a Human Resources Intern for onsite roles in Mt. Vernon, IN. You will gain hands‑on exposure to People Operations, Talent Management, and HRBP workflows, supporting onboarding, employee engagement, and HR operations across the Nuclear Operations Group.

You will assist with talent analytics, documentation, and project administration under HR leadership, gaining real‑world experience in HR strategy and employee relations.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Human Resources or a related field.
• Must have excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle highly sensitive, confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOE clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with HR projects focused on FLSA classification and compensation.
• Research, provide recommendations, and support process improvements to transition HR paper processes to electronic formats.
• Help administer and analyze employee feedback (engagement, onboarding, pulse, and exit interviews).
• Summarize qualitative employee sentiment data to help HR leadership identify workplace trends.
• Support HR Business Partners with basic documentation and action‑item tracking.
• Audit and update HR records and resources for employees and managers.
• Support seasonal HR initiatives, special projects, and programs as opportunities arise.
