Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a Nuclear Engineer to support the Fuel Mechanical Performance group at its Charlotte, NC headquarters. This role involves performing fuel mechanical and thermal analyses, supporting fuel-related plant issues, and ensuring high-quality design and manufacturing processes are followed.

The position requires a solid engineering background (Nuclear or Mechanical) with potential progression from Engineer I to II, and a willingness to work in a hybrid environment with

Qualifications

• ABET accredited program required for degree
• PE license and/or FE certificate a plus
• Strong written and oral communication skills are expected

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering guidance in fuel mechanical performance analyses
• Conduct fuel mechanical/thermal analyses and support plant operations
• Prepare technical reports and calculations for fuel design changes
• Maintain relationships with NFE, Plant Engineering, Operations and vendors
• Perform core component management and lifetime analyses
