Job summary

Protingent Staffing is seeking a Fuel Handling Mechanical Design Engineer for a contract role in Bellevue, WA. The engineer will design nuclear fuel handling equipment from requirements through commissioning, providing technical direction and leading design teams where needed.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 6-15 years of relevant experience, with familiarity in ASME BPVC and multi-discipline integration. Travel is 0-5% and remote work options may be available.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical or related discipline from an accredited university.
• 6-15 years direct experience with mechanical equipment design.
• Experience with nuclear fuel handling equipment is a plus.
• Experience with ASME BPVC, Section III, Division 1 and/or Section VIII.

Responsibilities

• Design of nuclear fuel handling equipment from requirements through final design, manufacturing and commissioning.
• Provides support for the design of fuel handling equipment.
• Presents results of design reviews and leads technical areas within projects.
• Interface with design disciplines to develop plant design information and specify system design and performance criteria.
• Oversee supplier projects and ensure delivery of data and deliverables.
