Job summary

Framatome is seeking a Fluid Systems Engineer in Lynchburg, VA to contribute to next‑generation reactor projects and installed base modifications. The role emphasizes design and evaluation of mechanical and I&C systems, with a focus on regulatory compliance and safety analyses.

The candidate will perform standard engineering tasks, apply established procedures, and collaborate with senior staff to ensure system integrity across multiple plant areas and project scopes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
• Advanced level of CAD/FEA/CFD software and programming skills.
• Familiarity with NRC regulatory requirements and guidance for nuclear power plants.
• Understanding of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel code.

Responsibilities

• Design overall systems for next‑generation reactor projects, including mechanical and I&C designs per regulatory guidance.
• Evaluate system design modifications and impacts of power uprates and plant mods.
• Perform standard engineering tasks: design, development, analysis, testing, specifications, field task resolution and quality event handling.
• Apply standard techniques and criteria with judgement for task adaptations.
