Job summary

Framatome seeks a qualified engineer to support the Thermal-Hydraulics Team in Lynchburg, VA. You will perform thermal-hydraulics analyses for operating plants and advanced reactors, guided by senior staff across a range of projects including digital twins and plant modernization.

The role requires at least a bachelor’s in engineering and 2+ years of related experience, with familiarity in ANSYS-Fluent, AFT Fathom, and RELAP5.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
• Advanced proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required by the role.
• Experience with plant systems design and analysis using ANSYS-Fluent, AFT Fathom, RELAP5.
• Ability to analyze customer specifications and apply product solutions.
• Nuclear industry experience or utility plant background.
• Familiarity with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and non-standard engineering assignments across design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, and specifications.
• Solve straightforward problems using established procedures and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and engineering standards with support from senior staff.
• Independently evaluate and apply standard technical techniques with minor adaptations.
