Job summary

Framatome's Design Engineering Specialist role is based onsite in Lynchburg, VA. The candidate will provide design, development, and analysis support, plan technical assignments, and resolve mid-level engineering problems while following established procedures and standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering (or 6+ years in lieu), strong communication skills, and hands-on experience with wiring, cabinets, and PLC/VFD systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or technical field.
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience in lieu of degree.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
• Excellent communication skills to convey detailed technical data.
• Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Knowledge of Industrial controls, cabinet layouts, and schematics/wiring diagrams.
• PLC and VFD experience.
• Hands-on experience wiring and assembly.
• Advanced technical writing skills (operating instructions, test procedures).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support in design, development, analysis, testing, and field task execution.
• Plan and conduct moderate technical or engineering assignments.
