Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support the Oconee Nuclear Station and potentially other sites within the Nuclear Fleet. The role may be filled at Engineer III or Senior Engineer level based on experience and readiness for broader site coverage.

Responsibilities include ensuring NFPA compliance, performing field analyses, and supporting regulatory inspections while coordinating with fleet teams and site procedures. Hybrid work options apply.

Competenze

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• PE license preferred or required depending on level.
• Minimum years of engineering experience with nuclear power plants.

Mansioni

• Serve as fire protection subject matter expert ensuring compliance with NFPA codes and regulatory requirements.
• Provide engineering and field support to identify, analyze, and resolve fire protection issues.
• Support Fire PRAs, NSCA updates, surveillance testing, and engineering calculations.
• Prepare for NRC, INPO, NEIL, NSRB and NOS inspections and audits.
• Monitor system performance and respond to industry operating experience.
