Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Nuclear Engineer to join the Brunswick and Oconee Nuclear Design (BOND) group. The role involves designing and analyzing fuel cycles for Brunswick Nuclear Plant in North Carolina and Oconee Nuclear Station in South Carolina.

You will perform safety reviews and develop in-house analyses and codes to support fuel cycle designs. Hybrid office/remote work after onboarding, with potential travel and collaboration with site reactor engineering.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• Nuclear engineering degree/license considered advantageous (PE/FE)
• Experience with neutronics codes and BWR fuel cycle design analyses beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead or participate in reload design teams to design fuel cycles.
• Develop and verify analyses for fuel cycle designs.
• Interface with vendors and sites for supporting design processes.
