Job summary

S&ME is seeking a Field Geotechnical Engineer / Geologist (Nuclear) to support complex geology and geotechnical work across nuclear project sites. You will travel to multiple locations and perform field investigations, data analysis, and reporting, contributing to permitting, licensing, and construction activities.

The role emphasizes hands-on fieldwork, rigorous documentation, and coordination with contractors and regulators. A background in regulated environments is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or related field.
• 2 years of geotechnical or geology consulting experience.
• Field subsurface exploration experience required.
• Experience with nuclear projects or highly regulated environments is a plus.
• EIT, GIT, PE, or PG credential is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fieldwork including soil borings, drilling oversight, and monitoring wells.
• Lead subsurface exploration in regulated nuclear sites.
• Analyze subsurface data and support lab testing.
• Prepare tables, figures, and technical reports for reviews.
• Coordinate with drilling crews, labs, vendors, and project teams.
