Job summary

Aecon in the Nuclear sector seeks a Field Engineer to support project management and field crews in Aiken, SC. You will review drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure work complies with design, codes, and contract requirements on site.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and at least 2 years in field engineering or project coordination, plus familiarity with rebar/concrete QA and software like Maximo, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and SAP. U.S. citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of Field Engineer or Project Coordinator experience
• Experience with rebar placement quality control and concrete QA to ACI requirements
• Knowledge of construction equipment, drawings, specs and standards

Responsibilities

• Meet daily with project crews to review production schedule and ensure materials/equipment/resources are available
• Collect, coordinate, and analyze shop drawings, design specifications, material requirements, and project data for quality and contract compliance
• Support development of technical requirements for project work packages, work planning, and scheduling
• Identify production, materials, equipment, or process risk elements that could impact budget or schedule
• Prepare RFIs to clarify as-found conditions
• Remit accurate project quantity input and controls using project cost coding
• Manage cost coding with finance regarding employee time, materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs
• Review project specifications for quality assurance at start, during, and after work
• Initiate and manage permits, inspections, and other documentation
• Plan field layout with crews and ensure appropriate utility lines are marked
• Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedules, and crews
• Reconcile the job close-out checklist with owner representative and field crews
• Perform other duties as required
