Job summary

Kiewit Nuclear Solutions seeks Field Engineers and Lead Field Engineers for the carbon-free technology projects based in Aiken, SC on an active DOE site. You will lead field operations, coordinate subcontractors, and support project controls while upholding safety and quality standards.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you’ll work with engineering, construction, and craft teams to deliver compliant, on-time project execution. Travel to Southeast and Northwest sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• 2-5+ years of construction field experience.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to safety, ethics, and operational excellence.
• Ability to travel and relocate throughout the Southeast and Northwestas needed (SC, TN, ID).
• US Citizenship required, and ability to pass a security background check to obtain a facility access badge

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specifications for construction crews.
• Support field layout, surveying, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor activities.
• Assist with work packages, quantity tracking, scheduling, and production reporting.
• Lead and participate in safety meetings, JHAs, toolbox talks, and jobsite safety reviews.
• Supervise daily field operations and support craft workforce execution.
• Maintain RFIs, daily reports, project correspondence, and project records.
• Support schedule updates, cost tracking, and job-cost reporting.
• Assist with change orders, contract administration, and project documentation.
• Support procurement activities, purchase orders, and subcontract administration.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and review plans and specifications.
• Analyze project risks and historical cost data.
• Assist with bid preparation and estimate development.
