Job summary

General Atomics seeks Nuclear Engineering Interns for a variety of field topics in a 10-week program. Opportunities span Nuclear Engineering, reactor design, thermal-hydraulic systems, and shielding design, with exposure to industry-standard codes like MCNP, SCALE, RELAP, and SERPENT.

Under supervision, interns will assist with day-to-day tasks, data gathering, and reporting, while observing safety and compliance in line with company procedures.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student.
• Commit to a 10-week internship with start dates in June 2027.
• Full- or part-time current student pursuing a degree in a related field.
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Ability to understand and apply new concepts, follow instructions, work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Participate in day-to-day activities of the assigned area under supervision.
• Assist in analyzing and resolving routine and non-routine problems.
• Contribute to electronic and hard-copy reports, records, diagrams and charts.
• Adhere to all laws, regulations, and company procedures while performing duties.
