Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Nuclear Engineering Intern to contribute to neutronics analyses and engineering projects in Devens, MA. You will work with the Nuclear Engineering team, performing calculations and assisting in the design and operation of fusion-related systems.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an engineering degree in Nuclear Engineering, with coursework in Neutron Transport or reactor theory, and experience with MCNP/OpenMC.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an engineering degree with focus in Nuclear Engineering.
• Must have completed by start of internship Neutron Transport/Neutronics or a Reactor Theory course.
• Experience with MCNP or OpenMC is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork; self-motivated and quick to troubleshoot.
• Cad and/or Python/C++ knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to neutronics analyses (energy deposition, shielding, diagnostics).
• Collaborate with Nuclear Engineering team on calculations (heating, activation, flux, dose).
• Help develop workflows for neutronics analyses and method improvements.
