Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems seeks NRad and Nuclear/Systems Engineering Interns for 13-18 week on-site roles in Devens, MA. Interns join Nuclear Eng. and Systems Eng. teams to perform neutronics work, with project variety and hands-on design exposure.

You will collaborate with engineers, complete coursework-based projects, and gain experience in a fast-paced fusion environment with safety-focused practices. On-site housing/transport responsibility may apply.

Qualifications

• Pursuing engineering degree with focus in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering.
• Neutron Transport/Neutronics or Reactor Theory coursework completed by internship start.
• Experience with MCNP or OpenMC.
• Hands-on mechanical design via courses, internships or projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist Nuclear Engineering team with neutronics calculations for SPARC/ARC projects.
• Contribute to neutronics analyses and shielding/energy deposition studies.
• Develop workflows for neutronics analyses and validation.
