Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a dedicated Emergency Preparedness professional to coordinate day-to-day activities between on-site and off-site organizations. The role focuses on managing personnel, improving emergency response performance, overseeing training, and maintaining facilities and communication systems to ensure readiness for any incident.

Qualifications

  • 5 years nuclear power plant or equivalent emergency preparedness experience.
  • Familiarity with CFR, guidelines, emergency preparedness programs, power plant operations, training methods and dose projection models.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the organization is prepared to respond in the event of an emergency.
  • Ensure the Emergency Plan requirements are appropriately and effectively implemented.
  • Monitor performance of Emergency Planning and Emergency Response organizations.
  • Maintain the Emergency Plan and implement procedures.
  • Maintain cognizance of outstanding industry issues.
  • Ensure emergency facilities are maintained to function properly in an emergency.
  • Support ongoing fleet operations and collaborate with fleet personnel to meet excellence plan.
