Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking an Electrical Manager for the McGuire Nuclear Station Operations Support Engineering team. You will lead degreed engineers, guide technical work, and ensure safe, reliable power generation at a critical nuclear site.

Reporting to the Engineering General Manager, you will oversee engineering activities, support troubleshooting, and drive fleet/site initiatives while fostering staff development and safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related sciences required.
• 4 years related experience including 1 year nuclear power plant experience and 0.25 years on-site experience.
• Desirable: PE SRO certification and cyber security exposure.

Responsibilities

• Manages a staff of degreed engineers and other professional personnel performing engineering activities.
• Ensures use of technical conscience and rigor in engineering products and recommendations.
• Provides engineering expertise to resolve complex problems for safe, reliable operations.
• Expands the team to handle complex problems beyond owner-organization expertise.
• Ensures adherence to procedures and safe work practices for nuclear generation.
• Ensures capable individuals are assigned and trained for Operations Support Engineer roles.
• Represents MNS ENG as duty manager on a rotational basis and participates in ERO roles.
