Job summary

Vogtle Electric Generating Plant seeks an Electrical and Instrumentation Nuclear Design Engineer to drive design changes for a major power uprate project. You will focus on electrical systems, instrumentation, and control components, collaborating across disciplines to deliver field-ready solutions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in nuclear design, strong analytical skills, and is eligible for unescorted access.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of nuclear plant design experience.
Familiarity with post-2018 nuclear design process.
Strong analytical skills and experience with engineering tools.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; cross-team collaboration.
Eligible for unescorted access to a nuclear facility.
On-site 5 days/week; remote candidates not considered.

Responsibilities

Lead and support design efforts for plant modifications related to power uprate.
Address moisture separator reheaters and heater drain tank pumps.
Implement setpoint and instrumentation changes.
Perform engineering analyses and calculations (electrical & mechanical).
Serve as frontline design checker for deliverables.
Interface with vendors and plant personnel to gather input.
Utilize ETAP, ANSYS, and STAAD or Stroodle for analyses.
Support procurement with early-stage evaluations.
Collaborate with Project Managers and Design Engineers across disciplines.
